Pre-COP29 Event Focuses on Enhancing 2025 Nationally Determined Contributions

In preparation for COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, a pre-conference discussion focused on enhancing 2025 Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), emphasizing ambition, implementation means, and inclusivity, organized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan and UNDP.

In preparation for COP29, which will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan from November 11 to 22, 2024, an important discussion took place today focusing on the support to be provided to countries for enhancing their 2025 Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). Organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The discussions highlighted the urgent need for increased ambition in climate commitments, effective implementation mechanisms, and ensuring that climate actions are inclusive and equitable, especially for vulnerable communities.

As the world looks towards COP29, today’s event serves as a significant step in mobilizing international support and cooperation for a sustainable and resilient future. The discussions underscored the collective responsibility of nations to enhance their climate commitments and work towards achieving the targets set by the Paris Agreement.
