Ambassador H.E. Cheryl Bazard met with UNEP Deputy Executive Director Elizabeth Mrema to discuss advancing environmental multilateralism and fostering collaboration between their organizations.

Ambassador H.E. Cheryl Bazard met with Ms. Elizabeth Mrema, Deputy Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), to discuss advancing environmental multilateralism and exploring avenues for collaboration between OACPS and UNEP.

Ambassador Bazard and Deputy Executive Director Mrema exchanged insights on the latest developments in environmental protection and sustainable development initiatives. They emphasized the pivotal role of multilateral environmental agreements in addressing global environmental challenges and fostering international cooperation.

The meeting provided OACPS Ambassadors and diplomats with a comprehensive understanding of current environmental governance issues and their implications on a global scale. It underscored the significance of collective efforts in achieving sustainable development goals and promoting environmental stewardship.
