Press Release

Ambassador H.E. Cheryl Bazard attended the FSMA conference on financial literacy, resilience, and inclusion, underscoring the significance of addressing vulnerabilities through enhanced financial education.

Ambassador H.E. Cheryl Bazard attended day 1 of a high-level conference on financial literacy, resilience, and inclusion hosted by the Financial Services and Markets Authority in Belgium (FSMA).

Financial literacy plays a pivotal role in empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their finances. Unfortunately, a lack of financial literacy often renders consumers vulnerable to various risks, including financial fraud and exploitation. By equipping individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills, we can mitigate these risks and foster greater financial resilience and inclusion.

Throughout the conference, experts and stakeholders engaged in insightful discussions and shared best practices to promote financial literacy and empower individuals to navigate the complexities of the financial landscape effectively.

The FSMA remains committed to advancing financial education and awareness initiatives to ensure that all consumers have the tools they need to make sound financial decisions and secure their financial futures.
