Her Excellency Cheryl E Bazard, Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and Mission to the European Union and His Excellency Colin Connelly, Ambassador for the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to the Kingdom of Belgium and Mission to the European Union
Her Excellency Cheryl E. Bazard, Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and Mission to the European Union made a first courtesy visit with H. E. Colin Connelly, Ambassador for the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to the Kingdom of Belgium and Mission to the European Union on Friday, 13th January, 2023.
Trinidad and Tobago is currently Chair for the Caribbean region in the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) of the Bureau of the Committee of Ambassadors and subsequently Chair of the Committee of Ambassadors. The rotational term of the Chair which is by region is for a period of six (6) months. The Chairmanship of Trinidad and Tobago and by virtue the Caribbean region will end on 31 January, 2023.
Matters of mutual cooperation between The Bahamas and Trinidad and Tobago were discussed, in particular the European Union listing of countries, issues of the Climate crises and carbon credits, Blue and Orange economies, Knowledge based trade, Tourism, Cultural exchanges and the preservation of cultural artefacts, Agriculture, Education and democratic governance, among others.
