Press Release

The Caribbean Group of Ambassadors in Brussels hosted a delegation from the EU-LAC Foundation to discuss strengthening CARIFORUM countries’ involvement and exploring shared thematic priorities.

The Caribbean Group of Ambassadors in Brussels (CGAB) hosted the delegation from the EU-LAC Foundation which included President José García Belaunde, Executive Director Alberto Brunori, Coordinator of Intergovernmental Affairs Carlos Maza, and Director of Programmes Anna Barrera.

During the discussions, both parties reflected on the importance of strengthening CARIFORUM countries’ participation and involvement with the EU-LAC Foundation. The meeting emphasized exploring the thematic priorities that are key to CARIFORUM nations, with a focus on areas such as sustainable development, climate action, and economic cooperation. The dialogue provided an opportunity to assess how these thematic areas align with the objectives of both the Caribbean nations and the Foundation, ensuring mutual benefits from their partnership.

Looking ahead, the CGAB is committed to fostering continued engagement with the EU-LAC Foundation and anticipates strengthened cooperation that will bring tangible outcomes for both the Caribbean and Latin American regions. The Caribbean Group of Ambassadors is optimistic that this collaboration will open new avenues for CARIFORUM countries to actively participate in shaping future initiatives with the Foundation.
