The Caribbean Group of Ambassadors in Brussels engages with the EU’s Special Envoy on SIDS to discuss key issues ahead of the SIDS 4 Conference in Antigua and Barbuda.

The Caribbean Group of Ambassadors in Brussels (CGAB) convened with the EU’s Special Envoy on Small Island Developing States (SIDS), Ambassador H.E. Ignacio Ybáñez, along with representatives from DG-INTPA and EEAS. The focus of the meeting was to deliberate on various issues and positions crucial for the forthcoming SIDS 4 Conference, which will be held in Antigua and Barbuda in May 2024.

The discussions encompassed topics vital to SIDS, including climate change resilience, sustainable development, and economic stability. Ambassador Ybáñez provided insights into the EU’s strategy and commitments towards supporting SIDS initiatives, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing shared challenges.
