The Embassy of The Bahamas to the Kingdom of Belgium is thrilled to announce its active involvement in supporting and participating in the highly anticipated 2023 Caribbean Investment Forum (#CIF2023) set to take place at Atlantis, Paradise Island, from October 23rd to 25th, 2023. Under the theme “A Bold New Caribbean,” the event is organized by the Caribbean Export Development Agency, in partnership with the Government of The Bahamas and the European Union.
The Caribbean Investment Forum 2023 marks a pivotal platform for accelerating regional economic growth and advancing transformative agreements. The Embassy of The Bahamas is committed to strengthening bilateral and regional ties, and its participation in the CIF2023 reflects this commitment.
Hosted in The Bahamas, the forum will focus on four key sectors poised for investment and growth: agriculture and agritech, renewable energy, digital business (e-commerce, innovation, and FinTech), and logistics and transport. The event will attract over 800 participants, including government officials, business leaders, investors, and stakeholders from various sectors.
Ambassador Cheryl E. Bazard, Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and Head of Mission to the European Union, expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming forum. She stated, “The Caribbean Investment Forum presents a remarkable opportunity for fostering economic collaboration and driving sustainable growth. The Bahamas is honored to host this event, which aligns with our commitment to promoting investment and advancing regional development.”
The 2023 Caribbean Investment Forum launch event, held at Atlantis in Nassau, showcased the transformative potential of the forum. Distinguished stakeholders and industry leaders gathered to discuss partnerships, strategies, and pathways aimed at reshaping the economic landscape of the Caribbean. The event laid the groundwork for CIF2023, which is anticipated to be a catalyst for regional economic growth.
Mr. Deodat Maharaj, Executive Director of the Caribbean Export Development Agency, emphasized the forum’s commitment to tangible outcomes. He highlighted that last year’s event saw 96% of attendees as businesspeople from 46 countries, demonstrating a shift toward results-oriented engagement.
The Embassy of The Bahamas recognizes the significance of the Caribbean Investment Forum in driving economic growth, creating jobs, and fostering collaboration. Ambassador Cheryl E. Bazard’s participation underscores The Bahamas’ dedication to promoting investment and regional development.
As anticipation builds for CIF2023, the Embassy of The Bahamas encourages stakeholders, entrepreneurs, and investors to participate actively in this unique platform for cultivating investment opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and contributing to a Bold New Caribbean.
