Ambassador H.E. Cheryl Bazard shares insights on The Bahamas’ regulatory framework for digital assets at the Financial Times Digital Asset Summit in London.

Ambassador H.E. Cheryl Bazard spoke at the esteemed Financial Times Digital Asset Summit in London, England, where she shared insights into The Bahamas’ pioneering regulatory framework on digital assets.

Moderated by John Everington of The Banker, the session provided a platform for Ambassador Bazard to highlight The Bahamas’ strong stance on digital innovation. Joining her on stage were distinguished panelists Ola Atose, Yasmeen Al-Sharaf, and Sheraz Ahmed, collectively exploring the transformative impact of digital assets on emerging markets.

The summit served as a critical forum to discuss how digital currencies are reshaping the global financial landscape. Notably, The Bahamas made history as the first country to launch a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), known as the SandDollar, a testament to its commitment to fostering financial inclusion and advancing technological innovation on a global scale.
