The Embassy of The Bahamas to the Kingdom of Belgium proudly announces the participation of Her Excellency Cheryl E. Bazard, Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and Head of Mission to the European Union, in the momentous 13th Commonwealth Women’s Affairs Ministerial Meeting (#WAMM2023) held at Atlantis Paradise Island Resort in The Bahamas. The event commenced today, focusing on the theme “Transformative Leadership for Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment.”

The 13th Commonwealth Women’s Affairs Ministerial Meeting, hosted by the Government of The Bahamas from 21st to 23rd August 2023, gathers eminent figures and decision-makers in the field of gender equality and women’s empowerment. The meeting serves as a pivotal platform for reviewing the progress towards achieving gender parity across four key Commonwealth priorities: women in leadership, women’s economic empowerment, ending violence against women and girls, and addressing gender in relation to climate change. This year’s discussions also place a special emphasis on the inclusion of women and girls with disabilities.
