Ambassador H.E. Cheryl Bazard attends a crucial coordination meeting in Brussels following the historic submissions of Written Statements to the ICJ on climate change, led by H.E. Georges Maniuri, Head of Mission of the Republic of Vanuatu, to strategize next steps.
In the wake of the groundbreaking submission of Written Statements to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) regarding the United Nations General Assembly’s (UNGA) request for an Advisory Opinion on climate change obligations, a pivotal coordination meeting was convened in Brussels.
Led by H.E. Georges Maniuri, Head of Mission of the Republic of Vanuatu, the meeting brought together Brussels-based Missions that actively participated in this significant process. The aim was to strategize and determine the next steps in addressing the urgent and complex challenges posed by climate change.
The gathering provided a platform for participating Missions to share insights, experiences, and ideas, fostering collaboration and coordination in tackling the multifaceted issues surrounding climate change. With environmental concerns reaching unprecedented levels, collective action and cooperation among nations are imperative to safeguard the planet for future generations.
