Ambassador H.E. Cheryl Bazard attended the 9th Annual T.M.C. Asser Lecture at the Peace Palace in The Hague, where Professor Fleur Johns addressed the audience on “Connection in a divided world: Rethinking ‘community’ in international law.”
The lecture, focusing on the role of automation and digital technology in global legal relations, attracted a full house. Professor Johns explored the concept of ergo omnes obligations and their growing significance in cases brought before the International Court of Justice.
The discussion shed light on evolving perspectives on international law and emphasized the need for reevaluation in the face of contemporary challenges.
