Ambassador Cheryl Bazard paid tribute to the late Sir Shridath “Sonny” Ramphal, highlighting his legacy in law, politics, and diplomacy, during a gathering hosted by the Embassy of Guyana in Brussels.

Ambassador Cheryl Bazard, in her capacity as Regional Coordinator of the Caribbean Group of Ambassadors in Brussels (CGAB), joined a distinguished gathering to offer condolences and pay tribute to the late Sir Shridath “Sonny” Ramphal. The tribute was held at the Embassy of Guyana, where guests were welcomed by H.E. Sasenarine Singh, Ambassador of Guyana. Alongside Ambassador Bazard; H.E. Georges Chikoti, Secretary General of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), and H.E. Léon Raphaël Mokoko, Ambassador of the Republic of Congo and Chair of the OACPS Committee of Ambassadors attended to pay their respects as well.

Sir Shridath Ramphal, a towering figure in law, politics, government, and diplomacy, left an indelible mark on the Caribbean and the global stage. Ambassador Bazard extended condolences on behalf of the government and people of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, highlighting Sir Shridath’s extraordinary contributions to international diplomacy.
