Press Release
Ambassador Bazard attended the Embassy of Cuba in Belgium’s celebration of National Rebellion Day, commemorating the 71st anniversary of the historic Moncada Barracks attack.
The Embassy of Cuba in Belgium celebrated “National Rebellion Day” at its Chancery. This significant event, marking the 71st anniversary of the 1953 attack on the Moncada Barracks, was attended by H.E. Cheryl Bazard, Ambassador of The Bahamas to Belgium, along with members of the Cuban diaspora and diplomatic corps in Belgium.
July 26th holds great importance for Cubans, commemorating the day when Fidel Castro and his group led a historic act that paved the way for the Cuban Revolution of January 1959. The Moncada attack, supported by actions in Bayamo, contributed to the political awakening of Cuban society.
