Her Excellency Cheryl E. Bazard, Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and Head of Mission to the European Union and attendees at the ACP-YPN “Meet The Leader” Event
Her Excellency Cheryl E. Bazard, Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and Mission to the European Union was the guest speaker at the ACP-YPN Event “Meet the Leader” as a part of the celebratory activities in observance of the 50th Anniversary of The Bahamas on Monday, 20 February, 2023. The Event was co-hosted by Ms. Adelaide Hirwe who also serves as the current Head of the Network and Ms. Aliyyah Ahad, a member of the Network.
The ACP-YPN serves as “a platform for young people to play an active role in policy-making processes at the national, regional and international level. All activities and advocacy of the Network are geared to ensuring, responsive, inclusive, participatory and representative decision-making at all level in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16.7, towards providing solutions for youth and institutions in our societies” (SDG 16).
As the Guest Speaker at the event, Ambassador Bazard provided an overview of her professional journey, the priorities of the Embassy and Mission to the European Union, reflections on the journey of The Bahamas to Independence and the role of an independent Bahamas and its relationship in the world
